John Albert Bewley 90, Claycomo, Mo. formerly of Springfield died Sunday, May 5, 2013, in North Kansas City, Mo. hospital, after a long illness.John was born in Stonington, Colorado, on December 18, 1922, to John F. Bewley and Gladys (Poyner) Bewley. A self-employed Carpenter by trade, He was a Merchant Marine during W.W,II. John had been an area resident for most of his life.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J. in 2008; two daughters: Georgia Persinger and Donna Wilkins, and by two brothers: Delbert L. and James Bewley, and two sisters: Irene Farrar and Margie Young. Survivors include two daughters: Dolores Melcher and Mabel Berry and two sons: Robert Bewley and Michael Bewley, one brother: Donald E. Bewley, who resides in South Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be an hour before services from noon to 1:00 p.m. Burial will folllow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens
