John Byron Page, age 87, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Springfield, MO.
John was born in Pittsfield, ME on June 30, 1934. John graduated from Maine Central Institute (MCI) high school in Pittsfield, ME, and was a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. He served in the Air Force from 1955-1959. He served as a Baptist pastor for over 50 years in CT, IA, ME, KS, and MO. He was a member of Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield, MO for 26 years where he ministered in the senior adult class. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was a godly Christian example to his family as well as everyone he met. He loved to share the good news of Jesus with everyone he met so they could have the opportunity to have eternal life in Heaven. He could start a conversation with a stranger and instantly form a connection. Being a pastor was truly what he was born to do, and so many lives were touched by his compassionate, generous spirit.
John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Charlotte Page; four children, son Scott Page and wife Wendi, son Steven Page and wife Kim, daughter Tonya Niederkorn and husband David, and daughter Ronda Joines; three grandchildren, Heather Krijt and husband Arnoud, Noelle Pope and husband Austin, and Justin Page; one great grandchild, Charlotte Krijt; and sister Patricia Sharps and husband Ron and family.
Funeral services will be held at Cherry Street Baptist Church in Springfield, MO on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM (with a viewing at 10:00 AM). The burial will follow at the Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
