John “Ed” Edwin Redd, 67 of Halfway, Missouri, passed away in a farming accident on March 20, 2024. Ed was born on February 2, 1957, in Buffalo, Missouri, to Wilbur and Beaulah (Blair) Redd. He was a 1975 graduate of Halfway High School. Ed married Kathy Weeks on May 22, 1976, at her parents home in Buffalo.
Ed worked at Stewart Concrete Products in Halfway for 28 years. After his time there, he worked in construction with his brother, Robert Redd and Bob Polly. Ed loved being on the farm more than anything. He enjoyed taking care of his cows, hay season, and could work on any piece of machinery that anyone brought to him. Ed was a hard worker but loved to take time off to go fishing. You could find Ed at the Whistle Stop in Halfway every morning having coffee with his friends.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy Redd; his son, John Redd; his daughter, Holly Reaves, and husband, Tony; grandchildren: Natasha Bozarth, Haley Beesley, Dawson Gire, Nataley Parker and husband, Jarom, Laney Bumgarner and husband, Joshua, Brody Howell, Carson Reaves, and Brielle Reaves; great grandsons: R.J. Beesley and Bentley Beesley; siblings: Ruth Ussery and J.R. Bradley, Lyle Redd and wife, Gertrude (Trudy), Robert Redd and wife, Marjolyn, and many other family and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Pitts Chapel Funeral Home in Bolivar.
