John Joseph “Jack” Dunville, age 73, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, MO. Jack was born in St. Louis, MO. on April 18, 1938 to Eugene Charles and Mary Evelyn (McGrath) Dunville. He retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years and moved from Atwater, CA to Springfield, MO to be close to family. Jack also worked and retired from The Montclair after 20 years. He loved to play golf and was an exceptional cook and was loved by many. Jack was a loving husband and father.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Dorothy Mae (Russ) Dunville, four children Cathy Baker, Kelly Bristow, Alison Avalon and Ray Dunville, three step-children Jerry A. Stilwell, Malcolm Todd Stilwell and Tanya J. Stangler (Stilwell), eight grand-children and one great grand-child, two sisters Margaret (Peggy) Herin and Susan Prosser and two brothers Charles (Chuck) and Guy Dunville.
Funeral services will be on Monday October 24, 2011 at 9:30 am at Greenlawn Funeral Home South with a private burial following at Missouri Veterans cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday October 23, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Cancer Society.
