Carson O’Dell, 89, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016. Carson was born February 17, 1927, the son of Gus and Ada Rogers O’Dell in Fair Grove. He was united in marriage October 6, 1951 to Gladys Clutter O’Dell. To this union, two sons were born.
Carson was a man who dearly loved the joys, hardships, and benefits of being a farmer and living in the open country near Fair Grove. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed help. He was a devoted Grandpa and Great-Grandpa.
Carson was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Porter and Sam O’Dell, 4 sisters, Grace Woodin, Marie Hooper, Ethel Green, and Jane Bassi, and a daughter-in-law, Donna O’Dell. Surviving are his wife Gladys, his sons John O’Dell (Nancy), Fair Grove, and David O’Dell (Tina): 5 grandchildren; Guston O’Dell, Fair Grove, Danny O’Dell (Sara), Chillicothe, Denise Carr (Billy), Bogard, Joannie Dukes ( Steven), Billings, and Doug O’Dell (Katie), Meadville; 7 great-grandchildren; Dillon and Carsyn Jo O’Dell, Colton and Auston Carr, Ely and Ema Dukes, and Luke O’Dell, one sister; Wanda Wallace, Springfield.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016, 1:00pm, and visitation will be Tuesday, July 5, 2016, 6:00-7:30pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will be at Wesley Chapel, Willard. Memorials may be sent to Fair Grove Methodist Church, P.O. Box 8, Fair Grove, MO. 65648
