John T. McCoy Jr., 78, Springfield, MO passed away August 31, 2018 in his home.
He was born January 11, 1940 in Peekskill, NY to John and Dorothy McCoy, Sr. John attended Peekskill High School and was a United States Army Veteran. He was united in marriage to Doris Andrews in June 1961, in Peace Valley, MO. John worked as a police officer for the DeSoto MO Police department from 1970- 1976, he then owned and operated McCoy Signs from 1978-2005. John loved to study the bible and history, he was a bible teacher for over 50 years. He was a member of Brookline Church Of Christ
John is survived by his children, Dan McCoy and wife Kathy, James Michael McCoy, and Doug Short and wifeKaren ; grandchildren, Krystal McCoy Westerman, Josh and Kylie McCoy; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Westerman, Karsyn McCoy, and Kollyns McCoy.
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris McCoy; father, John T. McCoy, mother, Dorothy McCoy and step-daughter, Teresa Irvin.
A celebration of John’s life will be at 10:30 am, Friday, September 7, 2018 at Brookline Church of Christ with interment to follow at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery.
