John W. Kaden 90, was born on March 9, 1931 in Moline, Illinois to John Clyde and Myrtle D. (Jackson) Kaden.
He was a veteran serving in both the Army and the Air Force. John married Ethel Lucille Hicks on March 31, 1977, and they were affiliated with the Golden Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel; a sister, Marilyn Kaden; a brother, Charlie Kaden; his parents John Clyde and Myrtle D. Kaden; and two step-children Barbara McCurry and James Wayne Sanders. John is survived by his step-children: Gary Sanders, Charlotte Allen, Patsy Pearson, Steve Sanders and Kavin Sanders; also many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
After his wife Ethel’s death in 2016, John was blessed to continue to have a special relationship with his grandson Jon Sanders. With the help of his grandson always making the time to take him to his doctor appointments, shopping, for his hair cuts and running errands and visiting him multiple times each week, and the assistance of Meals on Wheels John was able to remain in his own home independently, until shortly prior to his death.
The family wishes to thank Meals on Wheels and Access Hospice for all of their services.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3506 North National Ave., Springfield, MO. No viewing or visitation is planned.
