John Warren Torbett, age 92, of Bolivar, MO, passed away Monday, November 25, 2013, at Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility. He was born May 27, 1921, in Havanah, AR, to John and Cora (Loyd) Torbett. He was a member of the Morrisville Assembly of God Church. He served in the United States Navy during WWII and Korean Wars. He was a member of the D.A.V. of Bolivar. He was united in marriage to Aline Davis October 17, 1991. He loved to go camping and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Donna Torbett, and Marie Perry.
He is survived by his wife Aline Davis Torbett of Bolivar, MO; one son John Torbett of West Palm Beach, FL; four step-children: David Davis of Bolivar, MO, Gene Davis of Bolivar, MO, James Davis of Polk, MO, and Patty Sikes of Bolivar, MO; one sister Clara Roger of Dallas, TX; nine step-grandchildren, 17 step-great grandchildren, and five step-great great grandchildren; two nephews: Richard and Elbert Qualls; one niece JoNetta Blackburn; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Pitts Chapel with Pastor Randy Urich officiating. Burial will follow at Morrisville Cemetery Morrisville, MO. Visitation will be held one hour before service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 30, 2013, in the funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the CMH Hospice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
