Dr. John William Esther, 49, of Springfield, Mo., an honorable, godly man, husband, and father, who left a legacy of believing in dreams, inspiring adventure, and who knew the value of play, went to be in the presence of His Lord and Savior, January 24, 2011, surrounded by family, after an unprecedented battle with Aggressive Brain Cancer.
John was born in Columbia, Missouri June 21, 1961 to Dr. John and Laura Esther. His family moved to Joplin, Missouri.
John attended Memorial High School in Joplin, Missouri, graduating in 1979. John graduated from University of Missouri Kansas City with a Doctorate of Medicine in 1986 followed by a Fellowship in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. John Esther provided 18 years of excellence in Anesthesia with St. John’s Health System Professional Anesthesia Service.
John is survived by his wife of 21 years, Carol Leidig Esther; four wonderful children, Windsor, Madeleine, Jospeh and Eliza; his parents, Dr. John and Laura Esther; two sisters, Cynthia (Esther) Campbell and Julie (Esther) Witte.
A funeral service will be held for family and friends on Thursday, January 27, 1:00 p.m. in James River Assembly of God, 6100 N. 19th St., Ozark, MO 65721, 417-581-5433.
