I got to know Jon when he came to work for Topeka Parks around 2009 or 10. He was always so great to talk to and work with - he really cared about everyone. There are many improvements he made in the park system here which still remind me of him. I’m so very sorry for your loss

I got to know and appreciate Jon through Missouri Parks and Recreation Association. We often talk about our jobs but mostly were discussing our Kansas State Wildcats over a good bourbon. I will miss Jon and cherish the memories of times we spent talking about the Cats. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Jeff Stubblefield, Maryville, MO

Bob Belote left a message on August 21, 2025:
Jon was a good man that truly prioritized his family, his friends and his faith. He made a lasting impact on our Springfield-Greene County Park System with his enthusiasm, can-do spirit and overall positive outlook. He always looked for ways to improve the many projects, tournaments and events he and his crews helped to oversee. Jon loved sharing about his wife Amy, his daughter Fabian, and their family's various trips as well as hearing about his colleagues' families as well. Above all else, Jon had a real gift for always leaving the things he touched, as well as the people in his life, far better than he found them. I'm very proud to have called him my colleague and friend. With Sympathy & Prayer, Bob Belote, Retired Director of Parks
