Joseph Larry Patrick, 78, of Ash Grove, Mo., passed away August 27, 2009, at home. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, August 31, in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, Mo. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 30, in the funeral home. Burial to follow at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Three Rivers Hospice of Mount Vernon, Missouri. Larry was born Novermber 14, 1930, in Independence, Missouri. He attended Northeast High School, Independence, Mo.; Missouri Valley College, Marshall, Mo.; and graduated from Drury, in Springfield. He entered the U.S. Navy, commmissioned as Yeoman, serving on the U.S.S. Enterprise in the Korean War. He served 20 years as Sgt. in the Missouri State Highway Patrol-Troop D, afterwhich he served as District Manager for AAA Insurance, and retired as Safety Manager from Manheim Auto Auction. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Cary Patrick; mother, Alice (Dolsie) Harrington Patrick; and granddaughter, Jessica Patrick. He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Springfield; and children, Barry Patrick of Bois D’Arc, Tim Patrick of Marshalltown, Iowa, Kristie Dover of Clever, Mo., Brandi Morris of Springfield, Calvin Porter of Springfield, and Jamie Bonner, Atlanta Ga.; grandchildren, Kristopher, Nicholas, Danielle, Jewell, William and Olivia; great-grandaughter Chloe; sister Beverly Campbell of Independence, Mo.; nephew Patrick Campbell; and nieces Mary Winfrey, Margaret Hick and Nancy Bankeroff.
