Jossie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, whose gentle spirit and unwavering love touched the lives of many.
Born to loving parents, Lee and Oma Rose, Jossie was raised in an environment that instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion. She was married to her cherished husband, Vernie Walker, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love and laughter. Jossie was preceded in death by Vernie, her beloved daughter Rosalee Walker, her sisters Martha Walker, Georgia Stewart, and Jean Walker, her brother Douglas Rose, her son-in-law Charlie Farrell, her granddaughter Vicky Lynn Walker, and her grandson Edward Lee Phelan. Their memories will forever hold a special place in her heart.
Jossie is survived by her loving daughter, Janet Farrell of Strafford, and her son, John and Lisa Walker of Forsyth. She was a proud grandmother to Vernie Joe Phelan of Marshfield and Crystal and Matthew Wittig of Marshfield, Amber and Travis Robinson of Rockaway Beach, and Makayla and Cameron Stubbs of Rockaway Beach. In addition, Jossie was blessed with ten great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life. She also leaves behind 1 brother and 1 sister. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.
Throughout her life, Jossie worked diligently at Sweetheart Cup Company, where her strong work ethic was admired by her colleagues. However, her true passion lay in her relationships with her family. A devoted member of Trinity Missionary Church in Springfield, Missouri, Jossie loved the Lord with all her heart. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions with others.
Jossie’s hobbies were a reflection of her caring nature. She found joy in taking care of others, always ready with a kind word or a helping hand. Known for her generous spirit, she would give anyone the shirt off her back if they were in need. She had a unique ability to make those around her feel special and loved. Her gentle soul and kind heart made her one of the kindest individuals anyone could have the privilege of knowing.
Family gatherings were a highlight of Jossie’s life, where she cherished every moment spent playing with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her laughter and warmth filled every room, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
As we bid farewell to Jossie Annie Walker, let us remember the love she shared, the kindness she exemplified, and the faith that sustained her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A celebration of Jossie’s life will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home, where family and friends are invited to honor her memory and share their stories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church in Jossie’s name, as she would have wanted to extend her legacy of love and service to others.
Rest in peace, dear Jossie. You are loved beyond measure, and your light will forever shine in our hearts.
