Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Elijah Thomas and Eddie Ruth (Medders) Thomas; three sisters: Bonnie Neal, Brenda Baker, and Billie Jean Thomas.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Rene Ambriz; four children: Ronnie Thomas, Larry Medina, Jr., Melody Medina, and Lance Medina; 12 grandchildren; two brothers: Ron and Bob Thomas; a sister Barbara Kerns; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Joyce will be remembered for her strength, kindness, and unwavering support for her family. Her ability to create moments of joy in the everyday will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew her. While she may not have completed a formal education, Joyce’s wisdom and life lessons exceeded any classroom’s teachings, offering invaluable guidance to all who sought her counsel.
A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at the Pitts Chapel. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Saturday, February 28, 2026, starting at 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 3:30 PM with Pastor Zach Durnell officiating. After the services, her body will be cremated, following her wishes.
