Joyce Ann Taylor, 84, Springfield, MO. passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023, in her home after a long illness. She was born in Roane County, West Virginia, on July 3, 1939, to Benny Arnold Hunt and Irene Gail (Painter). Joyce was a member of the Berean Baptist Church and was a retired Assistant Underwriter for the St. Paul/Travelers Insurance Company.
On August 19, 1955, she was united in marriage to William D. Taylor, in Charleston, West Virginia, he preceded her in death. Joyce was born and raised in West Virginia, then moved with Bill in the1970’s to Englewood, Colorado, then they moved in the 1990’s to Springfield, Mo to be close to her grandkids.
She was also preceded in death by her mother: Irene Painter Hunt De Herrera; her father: Benny Hunt; her two sisters; Jeanette Heidle and Beverly Burgess; and her two brothers: Bobby Hunt and Richard Hunt, and her son Dallas Taylor. Joyce is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Vicki and Garry Paasch, her four grandchildren; Matthew Paasch, Benjamin Paasch, Samuel (Nylah Rogers) and Abigail King, her eight great-grandchildren: Mysia (Milo) Paasch. Kane Paasch, Malachi Paasch, Elijah Paasch, Jonathan Paasch, Kezia Paasch, Olivia King, and Rose King. She is also survived by her three sisters: Mary Lou Osborn, Patty Contreras, and Benita Hamrick.
Joyce was an excellent gardener growing vegetables and beautiful flowers. And she was an old fashioned cook for her family. Her specialty was biscuits and fried potatoes and brown beans. She never met a stranger with her kind smile.
She was always quick to lend a helping hand.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
