Joyce Virginia (Highfill) Hoover, age 85 of Springfield, died Sunday, August 16,2026 at home surrounded by family. Mrs. Hoover was born June 16,1941 on a small farm near Elkland, MO, the daughter of the late Alvin and Beatryce Gann Highfill. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Larry Martin Hoover, her son Scott Lynn Palmer, grandson Kyle Holt, and her sister-in-law Charlotte Highfill. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Wayne (Grayling) of Nixa, MO, Shelley Reeder (Darren) of Grand Prairie, TX , Rhonda Holt (Kelley) of Bryant, AR and Amy Russell (Paul) of Kemah, TX; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and a brother, Larry Gene Highfill of Springfield.
She graduated from Buffalo High School, Buffalo, MO in 1959. After high school, she married and started her family. As a young wife and mother, she worked full time at Zenith while attending college classes in the evening and weekends. It took her six years to get her degree, but she did it. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Drury College. She was very proud of accomplishments. She was very strong and intelligent.
Her career was filled with variety….as real estate agent, the first female Accounts Payable Manager at Zenith, Co-owner/Operator of Triple H Ranch, and tax accountant. She was one of the first online websites in early 2000 selling collectible dolls. As the Owner/Operator of Doll and Gift Gallery, she sold collections of dolls all over the country and world combining her love for dolls and business. Joyce was a beautiful woman with a kind heart and loving spirit. She loved her husband Larry, her children and grandchildren very much. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Greenlawn North in Springfield, Friday, August 21, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. Graveside will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery.
Those who have the honor of serving as pallbearers are Michael Highfill, Larry Lee Highfill, Dylan Highfill, Kelley Holt, Paul Russell, and Tyler Post. The honorary pallbearers are Darren Reeder, Tony Reeder, Ashton Reeder, Josh Wayne, Graylin Pingel, Ben Ragsdale and Zachary Palmer.
