Judy Kay Hamilton, age 79 years and 9 days, went to be with her Lord early Monday morning, April 8, 2024, following a long illness.
Judy was born March 29, 1945, in Springfield Missouri, to Jess E. Hanes and Adeline K Hanes.
On June 18, 1966, she was united in marriage to Lowell Hamilton, at Mount Comfort church, Springfield, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Matthew Hamilton.
She is survived by her husband, Lowell Hamilton of the home, Springfield, MO one son, Lance Hamilton and his wife Stephanie, of Frisco, Texas, four grandchildren: Grace Hamilton, of Springfield, MO, Hudson, Eli, and Lyla, of Frisco, Texas, along with other family members and friends.
Judy was a retired elementary school teacher of over thirty years. She taught school in Texas, Virginia, and Missouri. The last 24 years of her teaching career was with New Covenant Academy, Springfield, MO, teaching first grade. The school honored Judy, at her retirement, by establishing the Judy Hamilton Service Award. She was a member of Central Assembly of God, Springfield, MO, and the Springfield South Camp of the Gideons Auxiliary.
Visitation for Judy will be Saturday, April, 13, 2024, 1:00 pm, at Greenlawn East Funeral Home, 3540 E Seminole, Springfield, MO with a Celebration of Life service following at 2:00 pm. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Officiating will be Chaplain Shawn Oberg and Rev David Nelson.
