Julia Marie Jenkins, age 65, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 27th, 2022.
Julia was born in 1956 in Salinas, California, to Annabelle Ellanson.
Julia married Jeffery J. Jenkins on August 14, 1976. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary last year.
Julia earned a nursing degree from DeAnza College and dedicated over 33 years as a registered nurse. She started her nursing career serving military members at the Veterans Association, and subsequently served patients and families at Mercy Hospital for 30 years until she medically retired in 2012. She also enjoyed serving her community by volunteering at the Ozark Food Harvest, where she met many of her dearest friends. Her many years of service are a true testament of her selflessness, compassion, and love.
Julia loved her family very much and was so proud of her sons and their families. She enjoyed sunshine, gardening, flowers of all kinds, hummingbirds, cooking and sharing recipes, handwritten letters, and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved celebrating birthdays, holidays, and sharing sentiments and traditions, all of which will be cherished and live on through her children and grandchildren.
Julia was preceded in death by her mother, Annabelle Ellanson; her brothers, Michael and Dennis; her nephew, Danny Shatswell; her father and mother-in-law, Jack and Nickie Jenkins; and her brother-in-law, John Callaway.
Julia will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Jeffery J. Jenkins, of Marshfield, Missouri; her three sons, Anthony Jenkins and daughter-in-law, Emily Jenkins, of Pine River, Wisconsin, Kelley Jenkins and daughter-in-law, Susan Jenkins, of Nixa, Missouri, Jeremiah Jenkins and daughter-in-law, Ashley Jenkins, of Troy, Ohio; her seven grandchildren: Birdie, Isaac, Sophia, Noah, Petra, Tabitha, and Isabelle Jenkins; bonus granddaughter, Harmony; her brother, Pat Ellanson and sister-in-law Sherry Ellanson of Fresno, California; her siblings-in-law, Laurie Shatswell, Jill Callaway, Rod and Renee Jenkins, and Shelley and Paul Coelho; and many beloved nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A private memorial will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wounded Warriors, Alzheimer’s Association, and Ozark Food Harvest, as all had a special place in Julia’s heart.
