It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Julie Ann Wooten, age 52, on December 20, 2024. Born on September 29, 1972, in Springfield, Missouri, Julie was a radiant spirit who touched the lives of those around her. She spent her life dedicated to serving others and worked as a correctional officer at USMCFP Springfield, MO, where her strength, compassion, and fiery redhead attitude were felt by colleagues. She met her husband Carl Wooten in prison and was married on September 8, 2012.
Julie was preceded in death by her mother Mary Ella Dinwiddie; a stepdaughter Kayla Wooten; and a sister in-law Sally Dinwiddie.
Julie was a devoted wife to her husband, Carl Wooten; She was the cherished daughter of Leslie Dinwiddie; a loving mother to her two sons, Jared Hogue (Chelsea) and Colton Hogue; stepdaughter Jessica Yogore (Morgun); two½ grandchildren: Oscar and Baylee Hogue, and one on the way; two step-grandchildren: Grayson Lansdown and Atlas Yogore; sister to four brothers: Rex Dinwiddie, David Dinwiddie (Dawn), Steve Dinwiddie (Gina), and Scott Dinwiddie (Brenda). Her family will always remember her vibrant personality, her steadfast support, and her unwavering love, which will continue to live on in their hearts.
Julie’s life was a testament to resilience, dedication, and the power of unconditional love. She leaves behind not only her family but also a community that will miss her compassion and spirit.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Pitts Chapel, friends and family are invited to gather to share memories, stories, and the love that Julie fostered throughout her life. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 am Monday, December 23, 2024, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Riverview Sweaney Cemetery Long Lane, MO. In honoring her memory, we invite all to join in a moment of reflection and gratitude for the time shared with this remarkable woman. Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.
