June Arlys Wilson 90, of Springfield, MO, passed away Monday, January 13, 2014 in Jordan Creek Nursing Rehab. Center. He was born August 16, 1923 in Republic, MO to Lee G. and Reva A. (Mason) Wilson. He joined the U.S. Navy Dec-20, 1940, he served aboard the USS Nevada until after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He was then reassigned to the USS Phoenix, until his discharge Sept. 28, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou (Tindle) Wilson, his sister Virginia Phelps, and brothers: Jack, Wayne, Billy, and Lesley. He is survived by one son Gary and his wife Bea Wilson and by a grand daughter: Danica a sister Erma Cogan and brothers: Roy and Gerald, as well as many brothers and sisters in-laws and nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 18, 2014 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, with visitation one hour before services from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home.
