She was a pioneer in the working world for women, working for many years at the Zenith television factory in Springfield, MO. She loved seeing her family at holidays and special occasions, enjoyed music and dancing, and she could “boogie” with the best of them. She was proud of her home and enjoyed working to keep her lawn groomed and well-manicured. She loved to visit area lakes and to go boating and fishing in the Ozarks. She was known as an excellent cook and loved to prepare large meals for family gatherings, including her famous fried chicken. She was generous with advice and was always willing to listen. Even as her own health became difficult, she took a greater interest in the worries and concerns of others, sharing her wisdom and comfort. After receiving a terminal diagnosis with a prognosis of only 6 months, she defied all odds and proved she was a fighter with a never-give-up attitude, living almost another 3 years, blessing all with her extra time on this earth. The population in Heaven has surely increased by one more angel. She will be missed and never forgotten by all who knew and loved her. She is forever in our hearts. We will always love you. Where she is now, she was no doubt welcomed by her Lord and told: “Welcome June, your journey is over. Well done and welcome home.” Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Burial will follow in the Springfield National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in June’s honor to the Council of Churches of the Ozarks (at www.ccozarks.org).
