Karen Faye (White) Gavitt passed away in her home in Flemington on April 27, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 27, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri to Wilmer A. White and Rowena (Long) White. On June 8, 1961, she married Lloyd J. Smith in Mesa, Arizona. To this union, a son L. Larry Smith (Eleanora), daughters Carolyn Ream (Brad), and Christina Lazarte were born. On October 21, 1988, she married Larry Saxton in Saddlebrook, New Jersey. On February 14, 2003, she married Arthur “Red” Gavitt in Harrison, Alaska. She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, two sisters, and husbands Larry Saxton and Arthur Gavitt.
She is survived by her eldest sister, Rowena Garner of Oklahoma, son, two daughters, seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Galmey Community Bible Church, the VFW, and the Eastern Star.
A celebration of life will be held for her at a later date/time.
