I don't have a single memory of Granny K being negative. Everywhere she went, she did whatever she could to bring hope and positivity to whoever was present. Whether through prayer, the sharing of powerful experiences, reassurance, or kind words and actions, any and all were always welcome at her table to be loved, accepted, to rest from the world, and nourish their spirit. An incredibly bright light that provided clarity in a difficult world. I know in my heart that she'll always be remembered as nothing less than an absolutely wonderful woman of faith, with awesome hair to boot.

My "Auntie Karen" always was able to cheer me up and/or make me laugh. If I was in her presence for too long, I would walk away with sore cheeks from laughing so hard with her. Her faith was inspiring to me and I will always hold her example and precious words in my heart.
Diana L Palmer left a message on June 4, 2025:
Karen and I were cousins and so much more! We were like peas and carrots growing up, spending summers together at each other's homes in Newton IA. and Omaha Ne. No matter how much time passed between our visits, we always greeted each other with. "Hello mister Bluster (me) and Karen saying Howdy Buffalo Bob! up until our final visit a couple of weeks ago. Karen was a great ambassador in the family, always ready to come to the aid and support for anyone in crisis. She would drop everything and physically go to that person to offer help. I so admired Karen for her accomplishments in her entertainment career. She could hold an audience in the palm of her hand and captured everyone's heart with her "down home" demeanor on stage.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Karen & I have been friends for many years. My Dad recorded her demo tapes when she needed them. We have been in touch in her end days. I am so sad but also happy there is no more cancer and no more pain. She fought her battle for so long. Her unwavering love for Jesus was the strength that kept her going. Sending love & hugs to you boys and all the family. May our precious Lord & Savior sustain you and bring you comfort & strength. Sharon Class of '66
