Kathleen (Hodges) Wommack, 88, passed away on August 3, 2021, after a brief stay at Republic Nursing & Rehab. She was born October 11, 1932, to Ted and Etta (Thompson) Hodges in Fair Grove, Missouri. Kathleen was united in marriage to Jerroll Wommack on March 24, 1960. They were married for 61 years.
Kathleen was a 1950 graduate of Fair Grove High School. She worked for Citizens Bank (later known as Commerce Bank) on Booneville Street in Springfield until she became a mother. She then stayed home to raise her family during which time she also provided childcare for other families. Kathleen later returned to work at Commerce Bank and retired from there in 1997.
Kathleen is survived by her children Shawna (Terry) Thomason, Amy (Larry) Morse, Thomas (Kathy) Wommack, and Briana (Tony) Rouse; grandchildren Laura and Andy (Brittany) Thomason, Hannah (fiancée Sam) and Rachel (fiancée Nick) Wommack, Holden Morse, and Chandler (fiancée Renee) Rouse; step-grandson Josh (Jamie) Morse; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerroll on July 18, 2021, her brother Charles Hodges and his wife Erma, and sister Nadine Lumley.
Kathleen enjoyed traveling and eating out at her favorite restaurants. When at home, Kathleen’s favorite place to be was sitting on the screened in back porch watching the birds and squirrels and enjoying Jerroll’s flowers. She enjoyed the porch even more when anyone stopped by to sit and visit with her.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 on Friday, August 6 at Republic First Baptist Church. The service will follow at 2:00 with Bro. Lee Miller officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Republic, MO. Kathleen and her family are blessed with a wonderful church family that has always supported them with cards, visits, and prayers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Republic First Baptist Church, 305 N. Main, Republic, Mo 65738 or to the charity of your choice.
