Keith Edward Withers, 75, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on June 10, 2026, at Barnes Jewish Hospital from complications following surgery. He was born to Carl and Aileen Withers on August 30, 1950, in Springfield, where he was raised and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1968. Keith married Barbara Withers on May 24, 1985, in Harrison, Arkansas, and they shared 41 years of marriage before his passing. He proudly served in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Keith earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri State University in 1980. Early in his career, he built homes alongside his father before moving into finance and real estate sales. He was also a Shriner. In retirement, Keith enjoyed gardening, cooking, watching NASCAR and college sports, playing golf, and participating in and judging barbecue competitions with his wife Barbara. As an active member of Bible Baptist church, he served as a trustee and former song leader. He continued sharing his faith in his final days by giving out Jesus figurines at the hospital. Keith never met a stranger and will be remembered for his positive spirit and heart for helping others.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Aileen Withers, and his sisters, Sharon Wingo and Karla Vaughn. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Withers; his son, Keith Withers Jr., and wife, Marissa; his daughter, Janelle Marsh, and husband, Rob; his grandchildren, Skylee Wilson, Christian Marsh, Isabella Marsh, Eva Withers, and Blake Withers; and his great-grandchildren, Kenyon and Lynnox Horton. He is also survived by his sister, Andrea Rayna Withers, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A visitation for Keith will be held at 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield St., Springfield, MO. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Bible Baptist Church, 2631 S. McCann Ave., Springfield, Missouri, with burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, W. 20th St., Mountain Grove, Missouri.
