Kenneth “Kenny” Laird age 85, of Bolivar, MO, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at Citizens Memorial Hospital Bolivar, MO.   He was born December 3, 1936, in Bolivar, MO, to David and Grace Laird.  He graduated from Bolivar High School the class of 1955.  He served in the US Army reserves and was discharged in 1964.  He was united in marriage to Linda Lightfoot June 17, 1961, and to this union three sons were born.

          Kenny was a long-time member of the Bolivar Golf Club.  He enjoyed drag racing and stockcar racing in his younger years.  He coached Little-league and Pony league baseball, and loved playing bingo and golf.  He loved travelling with family and friends. 

          He is preceded in death by his parents; a grandson Corey Laird; a brother Loren Laird and his wife Shirley; a sister in-law Shirley Laird (James); and a brother in-law Tony Payne (Connie).

          Kenny is survived by his wife of 60 years Linda of the home; three sons: Chris Laird of Bolivar, MO, Scott Laird and wife Adina of Columbia, MO, and Steve Laird of Bolivar, MO; five grandchildren: Sarah and husband Jeff Jones, Molly, Malissa and husband Ty Unger, Emilee, and Kyle; 11 great grandchildren; one brother James Laird of Bolivar, MO; three sisters: Loretta Jesseph and husband Charles of GA, Vera Sullivan and husband John of NC, and Connie Payne of Bolivar, MO; a brother in-law Rick Lightfoot and wife Sharon of Polk, MO; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

          According to Kenny’s wishes his body will be cremated.  A celebration of life gathering will be held at Polk County Senior Center in the Reidesel Room from 1:00pm – 3:00pm on Saturday, March 19, 2022.  Online condolences may be made at: www.greenlawnfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
