In Loving Memory of Kenneth “Kenny” Lee Carnahan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth  “Kenny” Lee Carnahan, who peacefully passed away at his home on July 25, 2026, at the age of 72.

Born on May 7, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, Kenny was proud to call the Ozarks home. He worked at Springfield Marine for over 45 years and held several different positions during that time. After retiring, he found great joy in volunteering with Ozarks Food Harvest and spending as much time as possible at the bowling alley doing what he loved most.

Kenny is survived by his devoted wife, Tammy Carnahan; his caring stepmother, Caroline Carnahan; his beloved children, Heather Hendrix, Dustin Carnahan, Trisha Heflin, and Tiffany Diefel; and many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.

He was a proud grandfather to Desmond Downey; Tyren and Kenyan Hendrix; Ashton, Austin, and Adyn Carnahan; and Matthew and Madi Rippe. He was also blessed to be the great-grandfather of Grayson Rippe and Aspen Ulmer, who brought him immense joy.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father, Garnett Carnahan, and his mother, Gertrude Mendenhall.

Those who knew Kenny will remember his ornery sense of humor, his love of bowling, his unwavering support of the Kansas City Chiefs, his deep love for his country, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and anyone in need. His kindness, laughter, and generous spirit touched countless lives, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.

A gathering to celebrate Kenneth’s life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Century Lanes Bowling Alley in Nixa, Missouri. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, celebrate his life, and support one another during this difficult time. In honor of Kenny’s passion for the Chiefs we are encouraging anyone who would like to wear their gear to do so. Though Kenny will be deeply missed, his legacy of love, generosity, and laughter will never be forgotten. He will be loved, always
