Kenneth Leroy Weigand, age 71 of Springfield, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at St. John’s Regional Medical Center. He was born April 12, 1939 in Battle Creek MI, to Hartwell and Lucille (Shueben) Weigand. He served in the United States Air Force. Kenneth retired from the printing industry. He loved to fly and liked to collect airplane and classic car models, he built and flew balsa wood airplanes with gas engines, he loved animals especially cats, Frisco was his favorite cat. he loved his red motorcycle and rode it with his wife Joyce.Kenneth loved to walk and enjoyed going to his prayer breakfasts at church.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents Hartwell Russell and Lucille Evelyn Weigand and a brother Terrance Weigand. He is survived by his wife Joyce Ann Weigand, a daughter and son in law Lisa and Rob Bornert of Springfield, son and daughter in law Ken and Minda Weigand of Springfield, daugher and son in law Amber and Philip Weiand-Buckley of Springfield, daughetr and son in law Lorrie and Jason Rich-Holley of Springfield, son and daughter in law Daniel and Dina Whittemore-Weigand of Rogersville, fifteen grandchildren, a brother Dennis Weigand and wife Keon of Ann Arbor MI, a sister Roberta Shivley of Battle Creek MI, a sister and brother in law Christine Rustin and husband Steve of Moncks Corner South Carolina.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 27, 2010 in Central Assembly, a visitation will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in the church. Funeral services have been entrusted to Greenlawn North Funeral Home.
