Kenneth Monroe Cunningham died on Sunday December 6, 2015 in Warrensburg, MO, at the age of 95. Since January of 2006, dad resided at the Veterans’ Home in Warrensburg and was a proud veteran of World War II.
Kenneth was born on April 8, 1920, to Lonnie and Vennie Jane Cunningham, in Webster County, Missouri. Kenneth met his future wife, Chloe Mae Lemons, and they were married on March 14, 1941. Dad was employed by Trailmobile, Standard Steel, and later was the owner/ operator of Cunningham Candy Company in downtown Springfield.
Our mother, Chloe Mae, preceded dad in death in May of 1993, also preceding him in death; one son-in-law: Tom Clark, one grand-daughter: Mylody Sparks, and one great-great-grand-daughter Shiera Sparks, his parents, and one sister: Irene Thierry. Surviving children are Kendall (Jim) Branson, Peggy (Nolan) Sparks, and Dan Cunningham. He is also survived by three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews and nieces.
An informal visitation to remember Kenneth will be held on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home-North. Graveside services with full military honors will be held on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior program.
