Kenneth Ray Reed, 65, Springfield, MO. passed away October 20, 2021, after a long illness. He was born on July 13, 1956, in Oklahoma City, OK, to Roy and Betty (Gaskin) Reed. He was a United States Air-Force veteran of the Vietnam War era. He was a teacher and minister of the word of God. He enjoyed playing the guitar and studying the word of God.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: David Reed and Tony Reed and grandson, Mateo Patron. He is survived by his wife Gilda D. (Escalante) Reed, whom he married on May 24, 1987. He is also survived by his children: Michele Reed, Cerise & Renato Patron, Jared Reed & Bailey Stone, Katy & Ryan Thurman, Gilda Ray and Caleb Harris, step-children and their spouses: Chad Russell, Jud & Jen Russell, grandchildren: Samara Verdugo, Chad Russell Jr., Jordan Russell, Michael Conklin, Caitlyn Conklin, Erica Russell, Maya, Kenny, and Alex Patron, Isaiah, Willow and Jacob Thurman, great-grandchildren: Stevie and Pepper Verdugo, Kaizen Russell, Van Short, Parker Russell, Betty and Ray Verdugo, and one sister : Dee Dee Merrill and her husband Gregg.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. before services. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at Missouri Veterans cemetery.
