Kent Gunderson, age 83, of Springfield, left this life to meet his Lord on August 13, 2012 in ManorCare. Kent was born to Mabel and Peter Gunderson on July 8, 1929 in Oregon, Wisconsin.
Kent graduated from Fair Grove High School. On June 7, 1953 Kent married Kathleen Postle in Springfield and to this union two children were born. In 1994 he retired from Paul Mueller Company after 45 years of service. He was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. In his spare time he enjoyed taking pictures and developing them, playing his guitar and working in his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Leslie Lee Gunderson.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kathleen Gunderson of the home; one daughter, Debbie Gunderson; one brother, Gary Gunderson and wife Nora; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 16, 2012 in Trinity Lutheran Church with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the church.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church, 1415 S. Holland, Springfield, MO 65807. Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
