Kevin Lee Hurd, 63, of Springfield, gained his angel wings on February 21, 2021 after a brief and sudden illness.  Kevin was born October 20, 1957 in St. Charles, Missouri to John Edgar Hurd and Natalie Wynez Rohlfing Hurd.

Kevin began what would be a 39 year career as a commercial plumber in 1982 while living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was a long time member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local #178 Union.

Kevin had a great love of travel and his career offered him the opportunity to travel to many places including Oklahoma, Missouri, Iowa, California, Utah and Arizona while working on jobs in these places.  He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, which he referred to as Natalie, honoring his beloved mother.  He rode whenever and wherever he got the chance and put many miles on the Natalie.

Kevin’s love of music was hard to match.  He loved it all and listened to everything from Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin to Lady Gaga and B.B. King and everything in between.  This love of music took him to hundreds of concerts during his lifetime.

Kevin is preceded in death by both of his parents and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Newlands Hurd.  He is survived by 3 brothers:  John Hurd of Seattle, WA and his children, Ashley Hurd and Ian Hurd and his wife Megan Huddleston Hurd; Shawn Hurd of Springfield, MO; Mark Hurd of Belton, MO, his wife Julie Embrey Hurd and their children, Matthew Hurd and Abby Brumbaugh and her husband Brant; and one sister, Regena Maples of Oklahoma City, OK.  He is also survived by his two children, a daughter, Sara Renee Hurd of Oklahoma City and her children, Dominick and Kian and a son, Taylor Lee Hurd of Springfield, MO and one step-son, Travis Michael Bright, his wife Tasha and their son Michael.

Our precious Kevin, may you forever rest in peace, have eternal music playing in your ears and ride free!  A beloved son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend, you will be missed by many.
