L. Juanita Strange, age 98, of Bolivar, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 in her home. She was born December 5, 1912 in Elwood, MO to the late A. B. Wright and Izora (Medsker) Wright. Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Strange, one son, David A. Strange, two brothers, and one sister.
She is survived by one daughter, Ellen Kay Barnhouse of Bolivar, one daughter-in-law, Pat Strange of Springfield, MO, two grandsons, Justin Barnhouse of Bolivar and Zachary Strange of Springfield, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Juanita worked as a Probate Court Clerk under her father who was Judge A. B. Wright. She also worked for the Polk County Health Department. She was the first employee hired for Bolivar Manufacturing Corporation, Pantsmaker, Inc.
She was a 50 year member of Facts & Fiction Federated Club and was a member of the CMH Auxiliary.
Funeral services for L. Juanita Strange will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in Pitts Chapel, Bolivar, MO with Rev. Dan Adkison officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar, MO. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Monday, April 25, 2011 in the chapel.
