Louie Kent Cope, 65, went home to be with his Lord on June 7, 2013, surrounded by his family. Kent was born on January 7, 1948 in Cassville, MO to his parents Claude Roscoe “Bud” Cope and Mabel (Sanders) Cope, who preceded him in death. He was a faithful loving husband to Darcia (Rhea) Cope for 44 years. They have two daughters, Anissa (Bryan) Ingram of Nashville, TN and Jenny Cope of Springfield, MO. Papa to Austyn Cope and Colin Williams. Brother to Max (Carolyn) Cope of St. Louis, MO. Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Kent lived in Springfield, graduated from Central High School, and a member of Second Baptist Church where he served in the bus ministry. He enjoyed being a friend and handyman to family and so many others. We will miss his warm and loving smile as he shared time and talents with us all.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 9 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Services will be held on Monday, June 10 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East with burial to follow.
