Lane Alan Ferrell was born January 1, 1996, in Springfield Missouri to Bill and Stacey Ferrell. He passed this life on January 10, 2023.
Lane is survived by his parents, Bill and Stacey Ferrell of Branson, grandparents Tom and Olivia Ferrell of Springfield, MO and Paul and Brenda Fender of Nixa, MO, aunts Rachel McNamara (Mac) of Forsyth, Vanessa Akers (Jason) of Sierra Vista AZ, and Kelly Fender (Mark Bryant) of Springfield, MO, great-grandmother Joy Fender of Mt. Vernon, and many extended family members and good friends. He also is survived by his dog Scooby, whom he often referred to as his best friend. He was such a good friend with the Spitz family since the 3rd grade, and they unofficially adopted him as a 5th brother. He considered the Spitz family as his extended family.
Lane surrendered his life to the Lord at age 8, in the home of his neighbor and church pastor, Jerry Francisco. He enjoyed his youth group at the Bridge Church in Nixa all through middle and high school. As a child, he enjoyed spending time with his grandparents—going horseback riding, swimming, going on vacation, and spending nights with them.
Lane graduated Nixa High School in 2014, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas in 2018. He had an adventuresome and vivacious spirit, and spent many days hiking and nights camping with Scooby. Lane always excelled at whatever he attempted. He had a natural ability to talk with people and make them feel at ease. He also enjoyed making people laugh, and inherited his father’s and maternal grandfather’s quick, dry wit. He was a loyal friend to many and would always be the friend that could be depended on for a need or listening ear. He paid a great deal of attention to politics and world events, and could always be counted on for lively conversation!
Lane had a love for physical fitness, and started weightlifting at age 16. True to his nature, he excelled at weightlifting and constantly pushed himself toward improvement. He varied his routines over the years, and had recently found a love in CrossFit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2023 at Greenlawn Funeral Home Branson.
