Larry Alan Marshall, age 72, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, at Cox Medical Center South. He was born October 1, 1938, in Springfield, MO, to Marvin and Gladys (Eley) Marshall. He played fast-pitch softball for many years where he developed many lasting friendships; to these friends he was known as “Whitey”. He loved to reminisce about their playing days. He loved his grandchildren and his dog Sam.
His parents; and one brother Marvin F. Marshall precede him in death.
He is survived by five children: Lonnie Marshall and his wife Barb of Springfield, MO, Melanie Lorance and her husband Marty of Rogersville, MO, Kevin Marshall of Ozark, MO, Barry Marshall and his wife Beth of Springfield, MO, and Michelle Alexander of Springfield, MO; 10 grandchildren: Kristen and Brett Marshall, Claire Lorance, Michael and Garrett Marshall, Madison and Benton Marshall, Alex, Aubrey, and Aaron Alexander; sister-in-law Mary Jo Marshall of Springfield; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2010 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society, or the American Heart Assoc. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, MO.
