Laura Marjorie (Bishop) Longwell, age 95, of Springfield, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at The Maples. She was born March 19, 1919, in Springfield, MO, to William and Laura (Brink) Adams. She was a member of the Battlefield Assembly of God, where she served as treasurer. Marjorie worked for many years at The Gospel Publishing House. Her greatest loves were spending time with her family, reading God’s word and sharing the gospel.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Andy Bishop, Sr. and husband Alfred Longwell; her parents, William J. and Laura Adams; two daughters, Hazel Jane Long and Karla Rogers; a daughter in-law, Linda Bishop; and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by three sons, Andy Bishop of Fair Grove, Lee Bishop and Lita of the state of CO, and John Bishop and Donna of Springfield; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Leon Long and Jimmy Rogers, Sr; plus a host of other family and friends.
A celebration of Marjorie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Rev. Richard Orrell officiating. Burial will be held in Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Battlefield Assembly of God. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
