Laura Michelle Preston was born March 3, 1964 in St.Louis, Mo. and departed to her heavenly home on October 25, 2014 from cardiac arrest.Laura was a 1982 graduate of Kickapoo High School where she was a proud member of the Bonnie Buchanan Drum Corps. She attended nursing school and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and worked in local healthcare facilities.After suffering for years with severe migraines, seizures and health issues, she was rendered disabled as the disease worsened.Laura’s father, W.L. Jack Preston, preceded her in death on August 2nd.She is survived by her mother, Rita Ann Preston; sister, Patty Preston; brother, Scott Preston; stepbrothers Steve and Stewart Preston; and all of their families, plus numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.Laura’s caring, nurturing spirit will also be deeply missed by her many friends at Lakeshores where a Take and Give a Book Library has been established in her honor. Laura loved books, cats, children and Kenny Chesney. A private family memorial service will be held at Old Mines, Mo. with internment at St. Joachim’s Cemetery.
