Laurie Jeanenne Ruffa, age 57, of Amarillo, TX, passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Baptist St.Anthonies Hospital, Amarillo, TX. She was born January 7, 1959, in Monett, MO, to Willard and Carolyn (Thomas) Strauser. She was a member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Amarillo, TX. She was a compassionate and dedicated registered nurse for 32 years. She loved sewing, quilting, gardening and spending time with her friends, family and pets.
She was preceded in death by her father Willard Lee Strauser and an infant brother, Byron Keith Strauser. She is survived by her husband, Michael Ruffa; her mother, Carolyn Strauser of Springfield, MO; her sister, Marsha Strauser-Rea and her husband Brian Rea, Springfield, MO; and brother, Kirk Strauser and his wife Jennifer, Alameda, CA; along with several other in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2016, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
