Laverne R. Bruton, 81, passed away in Mercy Hospital April 1, 2013 from a courageous battle with bladder cancer. He was born Nov. 13, 1931 in Elkland, MO.
He was a Korean War veteran serving his country for 2 years in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Rayco Manufacturing for 41 years. He was a member of High Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and gardening
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Mabel Bruton, a sister Joe Ann Brinkley, Bob Brinkley, Don Tobin and a granddaughter Aryn Bruton.
Laverne is survived by his loving and devoted wife Shirley, 1 daughter and son-in-law; Sherry and Terry Tracy, 1 son and daughter-in-law; Randy and Tina Bruton, 4 granddaughters; Crystal Lowry and husband Matt, Amber Tracy, and Alley and Jessie Bruton of Marshfield, 1 great grandson Aidan Beck, 2 brothers Junior Bruton and wife Barbara and Larry Bruton and wife Helen, 2 sisters; Kathleen and Husband Clyde Replogle, and Virginia Tobin; 1 broth-in-law Doyle and wife Freda, one sister-in-law; Maxine Presley and several nieces, nephews and friends. Laverne was a loving father and loved his grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 6, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Mercy Hospice.
