Lawrence “Larry” Dale Tresler”He will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelations 21:4Lawrence “Larry” Dale Tresler, 71, loving friend, father, Papa and brother, completed his earthly journey June 14, 2015, after a lengthy and admirable battle with Alzheimer’s and a brief struggle with pneumonia. In God’s loving hands and surely the most beautiful reunion ever with his beloved mother, Vera. Larry had been a resident of the Mt. Vernon Veterans Home. Born in Huntsville, Ark., on January 16, 1944 to Glen and Vera (Croft) Tresler.Larry, with the love of his life Dorothy (Dye), was the proud parent of daughter, Diana Lynn Pleasant-Hughes. He is also survived by granddaughter, Amaya Sydney Asante, his pride and joy, maker of laughs, jokes and incessant smiles, and his loving son-in-law, retired Petty Officer Dale Hughes.Larry was proud to have been blessed with several brothers: Ken and Maurice who preceded him in death, best friends, Sam and Warren and beloved sisters, Trish (Pat) Gage and Glenna Weaver.Larry loved traveling the beautiful US countryside, later calling the Republic and Clever areas home. He served in the US Army, trained as a scout in the early 60s and was stationed in Germany, which we proudly own as part of our heritage. Larry had a wonderfully sly wit, always the comedian. Larry loved singing country, western music and gospel hymns while picking on his trusty 6-string at church, home or with Johnny Goolsby, favoring Johnny Cash, Willie and Merle.He was loved in life and will not be forgotten in death.Memorial services will be in Berryville, Ark., September 6, 2015 with times and location to follow.Condolences may be sent to 805 N Fulbright, Springfield, MO, 65802, c/o Diana Hughes or made to a hospice or any made to a hospice or any Alzheimer’s Association .
