Rev. Leon Powell of Springfield, Mo went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 27, 2013
at the age of 72. Preceding him to glory, mother Ellen Powell, father Art Powell, sister Jimmie Jenkins, brother Mark Majors and the son of his love Tim Powell. Remaining behind, are his wife of 54 years, Virginia, daughter
Jennifer Clark and son-in-law Steve of Ozark, Mo; Mynde Powell Rasmussen of
Springfield, Mo; Grandchildren Chris and Natasha Clark of Gardner, Ks; Joshua Powell of
Springfield, Mo; Nick and Rody Clark of Ozark, Mo; Kendall and Tim Essary of Niangua,
Mo; Great grandchildren Maddie Essary, Ethan and Judah Clark and Willow Clark; brother Gene and Imogene Powell of Henderson Ky., sister Sue and Dennis Durbin, Henderson, Ky. and
beloved dog Emmylou. Rev Powell achieved his doctorate in Theology and served in
ministry for over 40 years touching countless lives. He was the founder and president of
Mid-America Ministries and was a founding board member of International Convention
of Faith Ministers. He authored two books, a multitude of ministers manuals, and
thousands of teaching outlines. He was known by his friends and associates as a man of
integrity who always had a smile on his face and was a mentor and encourager of others.

Funeral services for Rev. Leon Powell will be at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at Greenlawn Funeral Home-East Springfield, Missouri with Rev. Steve Clark officiating. Burial will be in White Oak Cemetery, Rogersville, MO following the service. Visitation will be an hour before the service from 1:30 P.M. until service time at the funeral home.
