Leroy Knight, age 86, of Springfield, MO, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in his home. He was born March 27, 1927, in Walton County, GA, to William and Bessie (Anglin) Knight. He and his wife were active members of Glendale Christian Church .He served in the U.S. United States Marine Corps. After Leroy graduated from Johnson Bible College, he and his wife enjoyed spending the next forty-five years planting churches throughout the Midwest. Leroy enjoyed spreading Gods word and gardening
He was preceded in death by his parents,William Harry and Bessie Knight and nine brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife,Evelyn Knight, Springfield, MO; his three children, Jon Mark Knight and wife Vicki, Springfield, MO, Stephen Paul Knight and wife Rhonda, Edmond, OK, Rebecca Luann Cox and husband Mark, Yorba Linda, CA; six grandchildren, Christopher Knight, Chelsea Evans, Kristen Knight, Tyler Knight, Samantha Cox, and Megan Cox; three great grandchildren, Bailey Knight, Savannah Knight, and Memphis Knight; and one brother, Mahlon Knight.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO with Mr. Dean Sloniger, Mr. Seth Wortman, and Mr. B.A. Austin officiating. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. In lieu of flowers memorials to Glendale Christian Church Missions. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
