Leslie Erwin Roberts, age 91 of Polk, MO, passed away March 16, 2017, at his home. He was born December 31, 1925, in Polk, MO, to Amos and Martha (Payne) Roberts. He was saved at Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church at the age of 14, where he was a member until his death.
Leslie was united in marriage to Elta Alene Noblitt on November 4, 1946, and to this union three children were born. He was a parts man by trade for businesses in Stockton and Bolivar, MO.
He is preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers: Fred, Claude, Clifford, Albert, Cleo, Jesse, and infants Cletus and Willard Roberts; three sisters: Annie Walker, Atha Ragsdale, and Ada Jump; and a daughter in-law Diana.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years Elta; three children: Gale Roberts, Denton Roberts and wife Sherry, and Starla Loertcher and husband Allen all of Polk, MO; four grandchildren: Jason Roberts, Ryan Roberts and wife Amanda, Jared Roberts and wife Jessie, and Jenna Roberts; three great grandchildren: Reed, Penny, and Simon; one brother Ester Roberts and wife Nadine of Polk, MO; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 20, 2017, at Pitts Chapel, with Bro.’s Dusty Armstrong and Donnie Lightfoot officiating. Musical selections will be sung by the Sentinel Missionary Baptist Church Choir. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Jason, Ryan, and Jared Roberts, and nephews: Leonard Roberts, Donald Jump, and Denzil Roberts. Burial will follow at Payne Cemetery Polk, MO.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, March 19, 2017, in the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pitts Chapel Bolivar, MO.
