Leslie G. Barger, 51, of Nixa, MO, passed away June 21, 2010, at her home.
She was born July 14, 1958, in Groesbeck, TX, to Billy Mac Goolsby and Margaret Goolsby. She married David P. Barger on August 5, 1977, in Austin, TX. They had two children, Ashley and Andrea. She graduated from Crockett High School, Austin, TX, in 1977. She graduated from Baptist Bible College, Springfield, MO, in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a homemaker at the time of her death.
Leslie was preceded in death by her mother.
She is survived by her husband, David; her daughters, Ashley R. Hutchens and her husband, Jason of Springfield, MO, and Andrea R. Plank and her husband Vincent, also of Springfield; two grandchildren, Dominick Hutchens and Sophia Grace Plank, her father, and step mother, Billy and Mary Goolsby, and many friends.
Leslie was a member of Sonrise Baptist Church, Ozark, MO. She loved crafts, and doing flower arrangements, but her greatest pastime was spending time with her family. Leslie accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 12 and loved Him and served Him with all her heart. She was a wonderful example to all who knew her of what a true woman of God should look like. She will be greatly missed here on this earth, but for Leslie, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 26, at 10 a.m. also at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole, Springfield, MO 65809.
