Levi Jordan Teel was born on February 14, 1989, in Springfield, MO, and passed away on December 15, 2025, at home with his family in Nixa, MO, at the age of 36, after a year-long battle with cancer.
Levi is survived by his loving wife, Tiffany Teel (Burroughs), and their children, James, 7; Ida, 4; and Ingrid, 1; as well as his parents, Christopher Teel and Tammy Teel (Shade), and his younger sister, Lydia Teel.
Levi is preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Levin Teel; his paternal grandparents, James and Twyla Shade; and his cousins, Stevon Shade and Andrea Teel.
Levi attended school at Fair Grove, Kickapoo, and OTC, graduating from Kickapoo in 2007 and later attending Missouri State University.
Levi joined the United States Navy in 2011 and served as an Aviation Ordinance Airman aboard the carrier John C. Stennis until 2016, including deployments in support of Operation New Dawn (Iraq) and Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan).
Levi worked as a bus driver and aide for Springfield Public Schools, often working with disabled students.
Levi grew up attending services at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Fair Grove, MO, with his family and friends. He enjoyed sitting with his great-grandfather’s brother, Octa McMillin, and the other elders of the church, who looked forward to his company. As a teenager, Levi told his mother and grandmother of his salvation.
More recently, Levi was baptized into the Catholic Church and enjoyed attending services at different churches, including St. Catherine’s in Indianola, Nebraska. Levi was a wealth of knowledge on religion in general and loved to discuss the subject at length.
Levi had a lifelong love of movies, music, and books, and he loved the outdoors, enjoying taking his family to the park and going on hikes.
Levi loved his family and was a devoted husband, father, son, and brother. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, parents, sister, and many other family and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1609 N. Summit, Springfield, MO, on January 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM. The procession is scheduled to leave Sacred Heart at 12:00 PM with a motorcycle escort and proceed to graveside services, scheduled for 1:00 PM at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 23 Glenrock Road, Fair Grove, MO, including full military honors.
