Lewis Carl “Bud” Herndon 86, of Republic, Mo., passed away on Sunday eveining September 6, 2009. He was born in Springfield, Mo., on June 19, 1923. On July 11, 1945, he married Jane Turpin and together they raised four children. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Navy Reserve. He retired from Frisco Railroad after 32 years as an electrician. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Jane; his oldest son, Larry; his mother; five brothers; and one sister. He is survived by two sons, Cliff and wife Michelle, Chris and wife Patty; daughter, Janet and husband Ray Dean; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie. Grandchildren, Aaron, Mindy, Casey, Joe, Dusty, Jennifer, Greg, Scott and Matt; great-grandchildren, Kolby, Blaze, Hannah, Trevor, Brennan, Brooke, Blaire, Sophia and Payton; one sister Ola-mae and many other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Greenlawn South is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at their convenience on Wednesday, September 9 between 5 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 2 p.m. in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
