Lila Dean Steinshouer, age 71, of Springfield, Missouri, formerly of Carter Lake, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on May 2, 1952, in Springfield to Wesley Eugene and Mary Alene (Busby) Steinshouer. She was a graduate of Pleasant Hope High School. Lila became a mother of two children, Eric and Sandy. She was a diligent worker at Nebraska Skilled Nursing Home and Rehab, where her pleasant personality cheered her coworkers and residents alike. She loved Pekingese dogs, enjoyed working in her garden and admiring countless flowers and butterflies in the tranquility of nature.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Lloyd Steinshouer; and three sisters, Virginia “Ginny” Wilson, Rebecca Steinshouer-Hill, and Connie Sue Steinshouer.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Eric and Lindsey Seibel; her daughter and her husband, Sandy and Allen Hager; five grandchildren, Derek, David, and Douglas Jager, and Drake and Brooks Seibel; two great grandchildren, William and Josephine Jager; a brother and his wife, Bobby and Linda Steinshouer; five sisters and their husbands, Lela Hill, Wanda and Tom Jones, Sarah and Carl Gailey, Betty Jean Steinshouer, and Donna Bingham; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends are encouraged to come celebrate the life of Lila on Monday, January 22, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home, North. She will then be laid to rest at Slagle Cemetery in Brighton, Missouri at a later date.
