Lillian was born on January 10, 1935, in Jennings, Oklahoma, to Clifford and Thelma (Smith) Baker. She was the oldest of six children. Lillian spent her young years travelling all over the country with her family, moving for work frequently. She loved her life.
Lillian met Harold Allred at a skating rink in Bakersfield, California, and they married on August 24, 1953, in Gainesville, Texas. They started their marriage living in San Diego but moved back to Gainesville to start their family after Harold got out of the United States Navy. Lillian loved to take care of people, she worked as a waitress in many cafes and restaurants. Her longest position was at Lake Dallas, Texas, at the Duck Inn, where she worked with her mother, and children. In 1975, Lillian and Harold moved to Polk, Missouri, she first worked at Dee’s Nifty Café, the Gold Rush, and then Norma’s, where she retired from. If you could not find Lillian, she would be at Silver Dollar City. She went every chance she got to listen to music and dance. Her presence will be missed near the stage. She loved to read, she had a Harlequin Romance Novel subscription that sent her twelve books every month for 40 years, and she read every single one.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Allred; her daughters: Glenda Mehling and Donna Hendrix; granddaughter, Kalista Allred, and siblings: Sherry Roller, Frankie Hale, Johnny Baker, and Deanna Baker.
She is survived by her children: Richard Allred, Alan Allred, and partner, Carol Livingston, and Karin Green, and partner, Daniel Malark; grandchildren: Carmen, Leslie, Ginnie, Caleb, Andrew, Zachary, Amanda, and Nathaniel; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Allred, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A visitation for Lillian will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Pitts Chapel in Bolivar, Missouri. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Pitts Chapel. Interment will follow at Payne Cemetery in Polk, Missouri.
