It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Linda Louise Bates, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Linda, aged 75, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 13, 2026, in Springfield, Missouri. Born on November 25, 1950, in Aurora, Illinois, Linda dedicated her life to her family and her faith.
As a devoted homemaker, Linda found joy in nurturing her loved ones and creating a warm, welcoming home. Her heart overflowed with kindness, and she touched the lives of everyone who knew her. A passionate member of Bent Oak Church, Linda’s love for the Lord was evident in her unwavering commitment to the church community. She found great fulfillment in serving others, reflecting the values of compassion and love that she cherished deeply.
In addition to her devotion to her family and faith, Linda had a profound passion for animals. Her gentle spirit and nurturing nature resonated with all creatures, and she was often seen caring for and advocating for their well-being.
Linda was preceded in death by: Herbert Bates (Father), Jeanne Smith (Mother), John Bates (Brother).
Linda leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter Dawn Crall, sons Barry and Dean Kinzer, sister Sherryl Kinzer, and her cherished grandchildren: Abigail and Aiden Crall, Madeline and Vada Kinzer. She is also survived by son-in-law Patrick Crall, daughter-in-law Lacey Kinzer, and her dear niece Melissa Kinzer, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
A visitation to celebrate Linda’s life will be held on January 16, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7 PM at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. A funeral service honoring her life will take place at Bent Oak Church on January 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM.
Linda will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on through the love she shared with her family and community. In her memory, let us continue to spread kindness and compassion, just as she did throughout her life.
