On Sunday, March 21, 2021, Linda Fern (Dennis) Heard, a loving wife and mother gained her eternal healing and wings at the age of 75 years old. She passed away in her home in Ozark, Missouri with her beloved family by her side.
Linda was born on June 19, 1945 to Carl Edward and Lula Irene (Hargus) Dennis in Pomona, California. Around 1947, Linda and her family relocated to Diggins and Seymour area of Webster County, Missouri, where Linda attended Center Point Elementary School and Seymour High School in Seymour, Missouri.
On March 3, 1961, Linda married her “Sweetheart” Jerry Leonard Heard, where they eloped to Miami, Oklahoma and were married at the age of 15 and 17 years of age. This was the beginning of a beautiful and bonded love story. On March 3, 2021, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary and the love story remained forever true.
To this union five children were born, four girls and one boy, Rhonda Bell, Melody Sadler, Jerry Dwaine Heard, wife Lana , Martina Crum husband Rev. Jon Crum, and Robin Mantooth, husband Denver Mantooth. Her sister Debra Jane Pogue of Seymour, MO and brother Tom Dennis and wife Jane also from Seymour, MO. Nine grandchildren, Misty Bell McMullen, Lacie Sadler, , Caleb Crum, wife Ashley, Tyler Crum, Justin Mantooth, wife Danyell, and Priscilla Spickard, husband Nick, Kody Lawrence and Wendy, Kelsey Starnes and Zach; nine great grandchildren, Lexus Brannan Bell, Denim Brannan Bell, Grant Bell, Jayden Sadler, twins Ryland and Ryder Bittick, Erin Grace Bittick, Barrett Mantooth and Emmitt Mantooth. Linda was a “MeMaw” to so many children, she loved her babies.
In 1963, Linda’s husband, Jerry accepted the call into the Ministry to work for God. Jerry was a licensed Minister for United Pentecostal Church. Together, they built many Home Mission Churches and they lived a life of giving and serving others. During the years of their Ministry, they impacted many lives all across the world. Ozark was the last location they resided, built and established Ozark Mountain United Pentecostal Church, where they served as Pastor for thirty years. Pastor and Linda Heard retired from the church a few years past, due to health concerns. Linda stood beside her husband and supported his calling full heartedly. She was a big supporter of fundraising for the churches.
In her younger years Linda was employed at French’s Corporation in Springfield, Missouri for several years before her family relocated to Texas where Linda worked as Phlebotomist at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Linda enjoyed cooking, baking, working in her yard, planting plants and flowers and spending time with her family and friends. She was a very loved and respected lady, she will be greatly missed by her loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Edward and Lula Irene Dennis, a brother Rick Dennis, son-in-law Bryan Sadler, grandson Jerin Keith Sadler, great grandson Wyatt Bittick and a host of relatives.
